Geology and Planetary Mapping Winter School 2024

David Hodgetts and Matteo Massironi (University of Padua) ran a workshop on mapping small celestial bodies such as Phobos and Comet 67P, using digital outcrop techniques.

Our involvement came on Day 5, with a workshop presented by David Hodgetts (VRGeoscience) and Matteo Massironi (Università degli Studi di Padova) on the mapping of small celestial bodies, such as Phobos and Comet 67P / Churyumov–Gerasimenko.

The workshop underscored the versatility of digital outcrop modelling techniques and their potential across planetary science. Our thanks to the organising committee for including VRGeoscience — an experience that let us showcase VRGS and collaborate with scientists from many disciplines.
