Digital Sedimentology in VRGS

This one-day course is designed to introduce geoscientists to the tools and techniques for interpreting and analysing sedimentary geometry and architecture using VRGS. Through hands-on demonstrations and expert instruction, this course will focus on innovative tools and techniques for extracting meaningful sedimentological and stratigraphic insights from digital outcrop models.
Identify: Analyse sedimentary structures and stratigraphic patterns, from bedding geometry to depositional architecture, using advanced tools in VRGS.
Integrate: Combine field and digital outcrop data to refine subsurface models for applications in petroleum, hydrogen, aquifers, geothermal reservoirs, and carbon dioxide storage.
Quantify: Extract data to support advanced sedimentological analysis of facies transitions, depositional environments, and basin-wide stratigraphic architecture.
