Say Hello to Our New Business Admin Mimi!

From a background in geophysics (palaeomagnetism) I am enjoying a new focus in supporting VRGeoscience.

I was excited to join David at the VRGeoscience headquarters in May. I’ve settled in, got the filing all organised and am enjoying being a part of this happy, vibrant company continually buzzing with ideas.

The passion and dedication of David’s vision to enable people to get the most from their data and, to make geology accessible and relevant for all, is abundantly clear. Combining David’s unique skill set of geoscience, computer programming and visualisation as well as David’s love of teaching and supporting, means VRGeoscience is most certainly David’s happy place.

I bring to the company admin skills honed from my time in academia as well as managing family life. One of my strengths is in proofreading and editing as I am sure my past PhD students will attest to! Delving into digital marketing and social media is a new challenge but one that I am relishing.

My background is in geophysics and in particular palaeo and archaeomagnetism. My research has centred on determining how the Earth’s magnetic field has varied over geological and archaeological timescales using archaeological and geological material. A running theme throughout my research has been the development of methodology to determine past geomagnetic field strength using high-frequency microwaves.

Part of my job with VRGeoscience is to help show the world the company's core values. A key part of this is customer support. It doesn't matter if a question is big or small we are always happy to help. To demonstrate customer satisfaction I’ve put together below a few of the comments taken from the support email since I’ve started here.

“It is working. Thanks for your help and quick reply. “

“Thanks very much for the meeting; it was great to see all the new tools that VRGS has.”

“Thanks for the information, it will be really helpful.”

“Thank you so much! Honestly, I hadn't even considered changing the coordinate system, how do I change that please?”

“It works! Thank you Dave”
